Coplan specialises in the construction of commercial interiors; working with architects, interior designers and builders to provide a professional, all-round fitout service that matches the most exacting standards.

With a growing client base, Coplan decided it was time to display their projects online to support their marketing efforts. KDG, together with design partner Big Picture, were commissioned to design and build the new Coplan online presence with the primary focus being on promoting the quality and diversity of Coplan’s work.

Strategy Developed

Design of the website was completed by Big Picture who then provided KDG with the website production requirements. A series of Graphical User Interface (GUI) designs were prepared for the various layouts including the interactive Project Gallery.

A key requirement was for the site to be editable via a CMS and so KDG built-in their Kinetic Site Manager content management system to give Coplan and Big Picture the ability to make changes to their Projects Gallery and other content pages. A scrolling banner (editable in the CMS) was also implemented along with a news ‘Ticker Tape’.

Result Achieved

The Coplan website was launched with complete satisfaction from both the client and Big Picture. Training on the use of the Kinetic Site Manager CMS was provided to Big Picture who further provided training to Coplan.

The website is clean and successfully promotes the projects both in the header banner of all pages and the interactive Project Gallery which the client now updates themselves. A Search Engine Optimisation campaign is yet to be undertaken.

Brief Given

GTA Consultants has built an enviable reputation in both the public and private sectors for the delivery of independent, creative and thoughtful solutions across their many service areas including transport planning, traffic engineering and management, transport modeling and microsimulation, economic and financial analysis, road safety and general transport consultation.

With the addition of another office in Brisbane (to complement their offices in Sydney and Melbourne) GTA decided to undergo a rebranding which including head office interiors, stationery and marketing collateral. KDG was commissioned to design and develop a website to coincide with the launch of the new GTA brand.

Strategy Developed

Our designers worked alongside GTA’s Marketing Department to create a design that was inline with their new brand; capitalising on their circle motif. A Content Management System (CMS) was to be integrated to provide GTA staff with the ability to manage site updates.

A Mailing List Subscription Form was implemented to capture newsletter subscribers’ emails directly into their mailing database. A subtle Flash animation of their logo was also created as a metaphor of how GTA turns disarray into order.

Result Achieved

The launch of the website was well received by both GTA and their target audience. The website was launched on schedule to coincide with GTA’s official rebranding launch. The subscription form has been instrumental in building the number of subscribers to their regular email newsletter.

Following the success of the website and in keeping with GTA’s environmentally-friendly policy, KDG were further commissioned to design and create a Season’s Greeting animation which was delivered electronically.

Brief Given

Parks Forum is the peak industry association for park management agencies in Australia and New Zealand.

Parks Forum represent agencies which have management and stewardship responsibility for the full range of parks across the parks spectrum, from smaller urban parklands and forests, through to larger national parks and protected areas.

Parks Forum required their website to be upgraded to provide enhanced functionality and ease of use. In addition to this, Parks Forum required the implementation of a Resource Database to provide various stakeholders access to a growing library of documents.

Strategy Developed

KDG worked with Parks Forum and Wellmark Perspexa (advertising agency) to design and develop the new website which would utilize both an enterprise content management system (ECMS) and knowledge management system.

The ECMS was customized to ensure Parks Forum team members could easily manage the publication of content within the website. To enable various levels of access to the document library (resource database) a customized knowledge management system was implemented that allowed for full text indexing of documents and restricted access to a number of pre-defined levels.

Result Achieved

The new Parks Forum website and resource database was launched in early December 2009. The website has received very positive feedback from the parks management community and has a schedule of further enhancements currently in planning.

Brief Given

Footy Moves was created in 2008 by grass roots Football enthusiast Phil Kelly. Footy Moves offers a unique service, connecting football players, umpires and support staff in the community with clubs in the areas they live who seek them.

For a long time, the only way clubs could find new players, umpires and support staff living in the area (or having a desire to move to the area) was very hit and miss.

Understanding this need Phil Kelly sought to create a web based portal whereby players, umpire and support staff could record a profile which in turn could be viewed by clubs looking to fill those positions. Phil approach KDG to help develop the concept and make Footy Moves a reality.

Strategy Developed

KDG assisted Footy Moves by first worked closely together to formulate a strategy around the features and functionality that would be required to facilitate this process.

KDG then developed a customized profile management system that would allow players, umpires and support staff to create a profile and publish it for viewing by clubs.

It was also critical that clubs were able to easily find those profiles that fit the description they required. Accordingly, a unique search function was developed that would provide clubs the ability to search for specific characteristics and restrict profile access to only the clubs to which the person did not belong.

Result Achieved

Each year, during the recruiting season, Footy Moves is used by clubs as an integral part of their selection process. Clubs using the system have been able to review players, coaches and support staff they would otherwise not have known about.

The functionality of the site continues to grow, providing a continually richer experience for all involved.

Pragmatic Training provides training across a broad range of disciplines and is certified to help both students and organsiations improve their skills and meet both government and industry certification requirements.

Pragmatic Training required an online Learning Management System (LMS) to improve student access to courses and materials and to increase the potential client base both nationally and internationally.

KDG worked with Pragmatic Training to source and implement a LMS which would be integrated with their website and allow Pragmatic’s students to login securely and complete course and assessments online.

Since the website’s implementation Pragmatic Training have received a substantial increase in the number of enquiries they receive and have found the website to be a fantastic tool for communicating course related information.

KDG have since assisted Pragmatic Training by implementing a Learning Management System, allowing them to deliver training online which has greatly expanded Pragmatic’s potential client base both nationally and internationally.

Brief Given

MASS required an expense reporting system that would be designed to assist large organizations and government departments manage the cost of mobile communications across multiple departments, cost centres and users.

The MASS system would compliment the reporting provided by the large telecommunication service providers.

Strategy Developed

KDG assisted MASS by designing and developing a unique reporting platform that would draw data from existing TELCO sources in raw csv format.

The dashboard reporting system developed would then provide users (with varying degrees of access) with a secure portal through which they could view various report types.

In addition to this, the dashboard reporting system would automatically notify users of relevant events occurring, such as the availability of new data.

Result Achieved

Key stakeholders within the organizations using MASS are now able to access expense information regularly with higher transparency, allowing for more accurate assessment and decision making. As well as this, users at all levels of the organization are empowered to control expenses.

Brief Given

Lafarge Plasterboards Australia are the world’s third largest plasterboard manufacturer and supplier. These products are delivered through their national distribution network of PlastaMasta Centres.

PlastaMasta Hallam & Mornington Peninsula are part of this network and approached KDG to design and develop a website and online catalogue to help advertise and sell their range of products from Lafarge and other major suppliers including James Hardie, Bostik, Autex, Otter, Rondo and Powers Fasteners.

Strategy Developed

KDG designed the new PlastaMasta website inline with Lafarge’s corporate branding and style guide. The website’s primary purpose was to display their products online so we integrated our Kinetic Site Manager & Product Catalogue into the site to deliver a functional, editable database of their products.

To help the Sales Department we developed a “Request a Quote” system that let registered members select the quantity of various products and this would email a quote request to the Sales Department so they could follow-up the enquiry.

A HTML and downloadable Microsoft Excel version of the Quote Form was also produced to assist customers used to the old system transition to the new version. Content Management for the entire site has been provided by the Kinetic Site Manager CMS.

Result Achieved

PlastaMasta Hallam & Mornington were thrilled with the outcome of this online project. The website has cut sales overheads by providing customers with an online resource they could be referred to.

Staff at PlastaMasta have been trained to make changes to the website and product catalogue themselves. A targetted Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) campaign was also implemented following the launch of the site to help improve the organic search results for specific keywords. This included the use of a keyword specific domain name and has resulted in top ranks for “plasterboards melbourne”.

Brief Given

Novartis Consumer Health creates, develops and manufactures a wide range of products designed to restore, maintain or improve the health and well-being of its’ customers.

Novartis required the design and development of a custom workflow application that would serve also as a document repository and dashboard reporting system to manage the process of developing, testing and launching new health care products.

Given the nature of the pharmaceutical industry and the need to conform to rigorous statutory health regulations, Novartis required that the system manage not only the workflow, but also various points of authorization to ensure the development process met specific compliance requirements.

Strategy Developed

KDG worked with Novartis to design and develop a custom workflow, document repository and dashboard reporting system called Converge. The customized application allowed for Novartis to create unique project plans with ‘stop gates’ that would require certain approvals be met at stages throughout the process.

Result Achieved

Novartis are now able to manage multiple projects and provide key stakeholders with status reporting in a timely manner. Novartis can also ensure compliance with statutory requirements is met in each and every project.

When it comes to retailing lingerie online very few web stores are as selective as Alluring Lingerie. With a focus on stocking only the finest quality lingerie imported from the United Kingdom, Alluring Lingerie has built a loyal following of women with a penchant for luxurious fabrics, provocative designs and expert craftsmanship.

The two directors of Alluring Lingerie approached KDG at the inception of their e-business to design and develop an online store that would build their online brand and attract a selective demographic of discerning female buyers.

Strategy Developed

KDG worked with Alluring Lingerie to create an elegantly designed online store that showed off their exclusive product lines and provided shoppers with the ability to place and pay for orders online.

The website was designed with subtle Flash elements that enhance the users browsing and shopping experience while maintaining usability. Shoppers are able to select matching bras, knickers and/or shorties with the system setting available sizes based on their selections.

The site also has a handy Sizing Chart to help women select the bra that is right for them.

Result Achieved

The success of Alluring Lingerie’s business was entirely dependent on the success of their website. KDG were able to deliver a great looking website that let customers order online.

Alluring Lingerie now have a growing customer base from around Australia and the world and continue to deliver superior lingerie to their satisfied clients.

The website has seen a number of revisions since its launch and with the addition of a Content Management System and some training Alluring Lingerie have been able to update their website themselves.
